The Aransas County 4-H Chess Project has officially launched! Our kickoff meeting was a success, with youth and families coming together to learn about the project, play some games, and set the stage for a year of chess learning and growth.
Why Chess?
Chess is more than a game—it builds critical thinking, patience, and confidence. Kids who play chess strengthen their focus, learn sportsmanship, and practice problem-solving skills that carry over into everyday life.
What’s Next?
The Chess Project will continue with:
- Regular Meetups – Hands-on learning for beginners and advanced players alike.
- Practice & Play – A chance to sharpen skills in a supportive, friendly environment.
- Future Events – Local competitions, community play days, and opportunities to represent Aransas County 4-H through chess.
