With this whole pandemic going on, we’ve taken to Chess.com (https://www.chess.com) for our club tournaments. The title of this post is Corona Quarantourney #2, which infers that there was a #1. There was!
So, if you’re not on Chess.com, you need to sign up for an account. Then reach out to me (isamples) so you can join the Third Coast Chess Club. What are the club requirements? Hey, that’s a good idea for a separate post. But, if you live on or around the Third Coast and like to play chess, that’s a good start.
USCF ratings for Online Games were proposed relatively recently, so we’re working towards having some online rated USCF tournaments: https://new.uschess.org/news/online-rated-us-chess-events/ That means you need to be an active member of the USCF, so head over to their site and sign-up if you haven’t already.
Each tournament will state whether it’s USCF rated or not prior to sign-up. For now, it’s non-USCF rated, just for fun on chess.com.
