Dearest Chess Fans and Enthusiasts,
As the frosty winds of December bring us closer to the warmth of the holiday season, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude and joy. This festive time offers us a precious chance to pause, reflect, and cherish the wonderful moments we’ve shared over the year.
The game of chess, much like the spirit of Christmas, is about patience, and, most importantly, unity. Each piece on the board plays a vital role, just as each one of you contributes uniquely to the fabric of our club. Your passion, dedication, and camaraderie have continued to transform and grow our club.
This past year has been a testament to our collective spirit. We have seen thrilling games, celebrated the triumphs of our members at local OTB tournaments, and welcomed new faces who have added to the richness of our club. Your resilience and spirit of collaboration, particularly in the face of adversity on (and also off) the board, have been a source of inspiration to us all. Our chessboard battles have indeed been fierce, but our unity and mutual respect remain our greatest strength.
