♟️ Another great reason to play chess!

Interesting research from the University of Southampton suggests that mentally stimulating activities, including puzzles and brain exercises, may help improve cognitive function in older adults, with some participants no longer meeting the criteria for cognitive impairment after 12 months.

While the study wasn’t specifically about chess, it’s another reminder of the value of keeping our minds active.

Chess challenges our memory, concentration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. It also brings people together, regardless of age or experience.

You don’t have to be a grandmaster to enjoy the benefits of a good game. Sometimes, just sitting across the board from someone is reason enough to play.

Keep learning. Keep thinking. Keep playing. ♟️
