It was a really nice tournament. Thanks to all of the volunteers and to Jeremy Lovelace (President of the SMTX chess club). The venue was great and very spacious. Lincoln won 3, lost 2. Ian won 2, lost 2, and drew 1. Looking forward to another tourney in San Marcos sometime. It was hosted by a not-for-profit, and they even gave out snacks for free. Of course, they accept donations and have great sponsors. You don’t see free USCF rated tournaments that hand out cash prizes and trophies too often. Oh, and the pieces at each board had a nice weight to them. It inspired me to upgrade our Club’s pieces, of which you’ll get to play with next Monday, right? Because you’ll be there.
Pictures below, also one of the games Ian played. Check it out!
