4-H Chess Returns!

Aransas County 4-H Chess Project Begins September 22!

Young chess players in Aransas County have a new opportunity to learn, play, and compete through the Aransas County 4-H Chess Project!

The Chess Project is open to youth interested in chess at any skill level, from complete beginners learning how the pieces move to experienced players looking to improve their tournament skills. This year, we’re tournament focused, so USCF membership will be required.

Meetings will be held Tuesdays from 6:00–8:00 PM beginning September 22. Participants will have opportunities for instruction, practice games, chess activities, and USCF rated tournament play throughout the year.

Our first tournament is scheduled for October 24. Details to come.

The goal of the project is simple: give local youth a place to develop their chess skills, challenge themselves, make new friends, and enjoy the game as part of the 4-H experience.

Interested in joining? Contact Aransas County 4-H for information about enrollment and participation.

Come play. Come learn. Come see how far your game can go!
