ChessCore hosted a USCF Scholastic and Open tournament this weekend at Windsor Park Elementary school. The Third Coast Chess Club was represented by 3 of its players (Lincoln, Walter, and Theodore). Walter won all five of his games and walked away with first place in the Primary – Third Grade section. Theodore played strong and came away with three wins and seventh place in the same section. Lincoln received a first round bye and brought up his rating a few points.
Our very own Third Coast Chess Club President volunteered to be the TD for the Open section which had 27 competitors. There were some new faces and some familiar ones. Results for the tournament will be posted soon! The next tournament will be in Flour Bluff on May 6. Stay tuned for the venue (will post on Events/Calendar).
